[Press Release by KDDI] AWL provides edge AI cameras at au IKEBUKURO under “Mugen Labo Support Program 2020”, by 46 partner companies.

KDDI Mugen Labo started “Mugen Labo Support Program 2020”, supported by 46 partner companies to encourage startups’ new product development and technical case studies creation amid COVID-19 pandemic. Under the program, AWL’s edge AI cameras will be installed at au IKEBUKURO to detect social distancing and which displayed phones / terminals to be cleaned and disinfected*.
*How to detect the terminal to be cleaned: AWL Lite device (STB type) installed at terminal display section detects the terminal touched by a customer. The store staff recognizes the touched terminal by the icon on PC screen and cleans only the one customer touched, which contributes to reduce workload. Also, customers can see that the terminals are cleaned in a timely manner, so that they can enjoy trying the terminals without worry.
