AWL Announces Issuance of Stock Acquisition Rights as Stock Options for All Employees
-Reinforce Recruitment Both Inside/Outside Japan, Accelerate Growth as Global Tech Company-

Tokyo, Japan – October 25, 2019 – AWL, Inc. (“AWL”) Board of Directors yesterday passed a resolution to issue stock acquisition rights as stock options to Directors, Permanent Employees, Contract Employees of AWL, Directors and Permanent Employees of AWL subsidiaries, and partners pursuant to the provisions of the Companies Act (Act No. 236, 238 and 239), aiming at medium to long-term business expansion, corporate value increase and reinforcement of global talent recruitment.

■Reasons for issuance of stock acquisition rights as stock options

As of September 30, 2019, AWL transited to new management organization to maintain independence, accelerate decision-making and business growth by utilizing AI Camera Solutions acquired through demonstration experiment conducted at SATUDORA drug stores owned by SATUDORA HOLDINGS CO., LTD., and widely introducing the solutions to nationwide chains of restaurants, apparel stores, grocery supermarkets, convenience stores, hardware stores, etc.
AWL promotes their AI Camera Solutions at three sites, Tokyo, Sapporo, and Hanoi, Vietnam, consisting of staff from total 14 countries (as of October 1, 2019) with rich diversity. The trend has kept on accelerating and non-Japanese employee ratio is expected to hit 50% in 2020. AWL works steadily on team building to achieve its’ growth as a Global Tech Company.
Under such background, issuance of stock acquisition rights as stock options for all employees is a bold step to achieve global standards, and establish a strategic personnel system aiming to grow globally by hiring the top talents and maintaining high moral.
