AWL and ROUTE06 Support Sogo & Seibu’s OMO Store Development
-AI camera solution “AWLBOX” introduced to boost DX of department stores-

AWL (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Muneharu Kitade, hereinafter referred to as “AWL”), the market leader in edge AI camera solutions and ROUTE06, Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Takahumi Endo, hereinafter referred to as “ROUTE06”) have announced that AWL and ROUTE06 support Sogo & Seibu’s OMO Store “CHOOSEBASE SHIBUYA”, utilizing AWL’s AI camera solution “AWLBOX”.

■“CHOOSEBASE SHIBUYA”

“CHOOSEBASE SHIBUYA (hereinafter referred as “CHOOSEBASE”) is an OMO store which integrates buying experience in-store and EC utilizing the cutting-edge technology. Taking advantage of Sogo & Seibu’s capability to create the attractive sales floor cultivated as a long-established department store, we intend to bring digital-native generation and emerging brands together with DX.

■The background of “AWLBOX” introduction

With the mission of “FUTURE OF RETAIL,” CHOOSEBASE explored the form of next-generation shopping while actively promoting collaboration with startups and other technology companies. The AI camera solution “AWLBOX” was introduced as one of these projects. Aiming to create a store that keeps evolving based on data, the environment and infrastructure were established by taking utilization of customer data for the sales promotion and VMD into consideration.

■The advantages of “AWLBOX”

AWLBOX is an edge AI solution which offers various AI video analysis features just by connecting to existing security cameras along with VMS (Video Management System) feature. In addition to low initial costs, video analysis is done at the edge (on-site) without sending data to the cloud, reducing communication costs and increasing security. The “AWL BOX” solution is a platform that provides consulting at the time of introduction, installation and maintenance support all one-stop, and can be easily installed tailored to customer needs. Moreover, since cooperation with other companies’ systems is smooth, Toppan Printing Co., Ltd. will be in charge of planning and production of contents based on the data.

■ROUTE06’s role

ROUTE06 was in charge of giving full support to the digital domain such as business development of RaaS, digital UI / UX design, and system development. With regard to in-store data acquisition and analysis, which used to be difficult in the past, AWL / ROUTE06 collaboration has realized the construction of a data platform that integrates in-store, EC, and Web media data.
