-Aiming to Co-Develop OMO Platform Utilizing AI Cameras-

Tokyo, Japan – February 3, 2020 – AWL, Inc. (“AWL”, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan, President: Muneharu Kitade), a leading AI camera solutions provider for retailers, has announced that AWL concluded the Business Alliance (“Alliance”) with CyberAgent, Inc. (“CyberAgent”, Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Japan, President: Susumu Fujita) and SAPPORO DRUG STORE CO.,LTD. (“SAPPORO DRUG STORE”, Headquarters: Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, President: Hiroki Tomiyama), aiming to conduct demonstration experiments to “Establish Online/Offline Integrated Marketing Platform”.
In the United States and China, companies such as Amazon or Alibaba, whose main business is EC invest a massive amount on physical stores or logistics field in recent years aiming to accelerate enhanced online/offline integrated customer experiences and services. Retailers as represented by Walmart also actively implement measures on OMO field, taking advantage of physical stores. Even in Japan, the key phrases such as “Digital Transformation” or “Retail Tech” have been gaining greater attention.

In order to offer new customer experiences through such online/offline integration, the in-store experiences should be converted into digitalized data and seamlessly integrate with online data on the platform. Implementing the PDCA cycle to examine how to optimize effective advertisement, attractive storefront, and streamlined operation, etc. is also necessary.

Gathering the wisdom of three companies, we aim to create successful examples of digital transformation as retailers through this Alliance: CyberAgent’s networks and know-how as a company with a proven track record in online advertising billings in Japan, SAPPORO DRUG STORE’s accumulated know-how on digital transformation acquired through proactive AI camera/sensor introduction, AWL’s AI camera solutions for retailers which digitalize/visualize every actions in store.
