AWL, Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneharu Kitade), a Hokkaido University-certified startup specializing in image recognition technology and edge AI camera solutions, is pleased to announce that its Chief Technology Officer, Yasuhiro Tsuchida, will be delivering a keynote address at the co-located workshop “Domain Generalization: Evolution, Breakthroughs and Future Horizon” during CVPR 2025, to be held in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, from June 11–15, 2025. Recognized as the world’s premier conference in computer vision, CVPR brings together top-tier researchers and industry leaders to discuss groundbreaking advancements in the field. This year marks the 42nd edition of the conference. Mr. Tsuchida’s keynote will take place on June 12, and AWL is also proud to serve as a sponsor of the workshop.

Half-day Workshop at CVPR 2025: Domain Generalization: Evolution, Breakthroughs and Future Horizon

The workshop is co-organized by Dr. Muhammad Haris Khan (Associate Professor at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, UAE) and Dr. Biplab Banerjee (Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India), and others. It serves as a forum for leading researchers to explore the latest advancements and future directions in domain generalization and adaptation, including innovative neural architectures and techniques to improve the robustness and deployment-readiness of AI systems in complex, real-world settings.
Dr. Muhammad Haris Khan is a noted expert in face-related tasks, visual domain adaptation, generalization, and tracking, with numerous publications at CVPR, ICCV, and NeurIPS and over 5000 citations. Dr. Biplab Banerjee specializes in computer vision, deep learning, and multi-modal learning, and is a Senior Member of IEEE with over 2,300 citations, having made significant contributions to visual recognition and domain generalization research.
In his keynote, titled “Advancing Edge AI and Video Analysis Technology: AWL’s Global Impact and Real-World Implementation,” Mr. Tsuchida will showcase the technical innovation behind AWL’s proprietary “AWL Engine” technology. This cutting-edge AI system dynamically adapts to environmental changes while maintaining model accuracy, thereby enhancing cost and energy efficiency. Drawing from AWL’s successful deployments in Japan’s retail sector, the presentation will highlight the company’s practical impact and global ambitions in real-world AI implementation.
Mr. Tsuchida has served as CTO of AWL since 2017, overseeing the company’s global technology and intellectual property strategy. Prior to joining AWL, he led new business development initiatives at Panasonic Corporation, including founding mobile O2O services in Silicon Valley. Earlier, he contributed to middleware platform development for NTT DOCOMO and holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from Hokkaido University.
