SAPPORO REAL ESTATE CO., LTD. (“SAPPORO REAL ESTATE”, Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Japan, President: Hiroshi Tokimatsu) has announced that from Monday, October 4th to Sunday, October 31st, SAPPORO REAL ESTATE will conduct second PoC to encourage visitors to get around the complex by the visitor attribute analysis and real-time crowd status visualization of the restaurants utilizing “AWL Lite”, an AI camera solution.
This PoC is a collaboration project with AWL, Inc. (“AWL”, Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan, President: Muneharu Kitade), a Hokkaido University-certified venture company and leading edge AI camera solutions provider with the aim of creating new business utilizing “AI-powered advertisement distribution” technology, which runs optimum advertisement that suited to the visitors.

To conduct PoC, AWL’s AI camera solution “AWL Lite” is introduced to Sapporo Factory. AWL Lite, 10-inch tablet with AI camera are installed at the entrances of restaurants to obtain crowd status, and display the status on the digital signages installed in the main aisles.
Also, “AWL Lite” STB terminals set to the digital signages with cameras, analyze the signage viewer’s attributes and display the optimum menu for the viewer and lead them to voluntarily head to a less crowded restaurants.

In the first PoC (From March 12 to April 9th, 2021), it is confirmed that “AI-powered advertisement” contributed to increase the effect of attracting customers by 120 to 130%. In the second PoC, more appealing contents will be displayed utilizing AI-powered advertisement and the feasibility will also be verified. By utilizing this “AI-powered advertisement” technology, SAPPORO REAL ESTATE expects to boost the number of visitors and improve customer satisfaction by optimized advertisement suited to the visitor, in addition to avoiding crowd creation in the shopping complex or stores. SAPPORO REAL ESTATE intends to realize a new form of shopping complex that is more convenient and comfortable for the visitors along with ensuring safety and security.
In keeping with the spread of “individual” lifestyles that are not tied down by time and place and the progress of digitalization, SAPPORO REAL ESTATE challenges to improve attractiveness of the place including the surrounding area through creating and nurturing new value that supports each “individual” beyond the real estate business, along with offering convenience and comfort to people who live, work, and visit.

・ Install AI camera solution “AWL Lite” in Sapporo Factory.Six restaurants: “AWL Lite” 10-inch tablets 4 locations in Sapporo Factory: Digital signage with “AWL Lite” STB terminal in the aisle.

・ “AWL Lite” 10-inch tablets obtain restaurants’ crowd status to display it on the digital signage. Also, “AWL Lite” STB terminals set to the digital signages analyze the signage viewer’s attributes and display the optimum advertisement for the viewer.

・ Analyze viewer and visitors to measure the signage viewing rate and the effectiveness to increase the customer to each restaurant.

The processed / extracted data does not contain information that leading to identify an individual.
