AWL to Release Fever Screening Solution with Face Recognition, a High Degree of Accuracy and Quick-Passing, along with “AWL BOX mini”, the 3Cs* Prevention Solution to Detect Congestion Status Utilizing Existing Security Camera
~Aiming to support retailers and various facilities in 3Cs prevention and streamlining the operation~

AWL (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO Muneharu Kitade, hereinafter referred to as “The Company”), the market leader in AI camera solutions, has released AI-powered fever screening solution with face recognition feature, a high degree of accuracy which scans multiple people at once, along with “AWL BOX mini”, the 3Cs prevention solution to analyze in-store congestion status in real time utilizing existing security camera.

The fever screening solution with face recognition feature has a high thermal resolution and a measurement accuracy of +/- 0.1 ºC (laboratory environment), and avoids creating a bottleneck because it instantly scans multiple people coming from approximately 4m away. In addition, it keeps accuracy even with a mask, and alerts to encourage wearing mask if the person is not wearing it.
Many hotels and tourism-related businesses have already adopted the innovative solution. Compared with the handheld thermal device, which forces an employee to approach the subject to scan one by one, it cuts down on labor drastically and minimize the risk of getting infected.

“AWL BOX mini” makes maximum three cameras AI-enabled and counts the number of customers at the entrance to predict congestion in store. It also measures congestion and social distancing status at specific areas such as check-out counters, etc. in real time to alert if crowded. The in-store videos showing congestion can be monitored easily using Smartphone or tablet remotely from Headquarters or anywhere outside the store, which enables to take concrete measures.

In addition, through the data linking feature, the store congestion status is available on the website, applications, and LINE for customers, encouraging them to avoid crowds.

Moreover, analysis on number of customers, gender / age, and density in specific section can be utilized for marketing, for example analysis on effectiveness of advertisement such as flyer and popular section of the store.

Through the cooperation among other solutions AWL offered, the fever screening solution and AWL BOX mini realize the streamline of operation and more sophisticated marketing along with prevention of infection and strengthening 3Cs prevention. The Company intends to fully support retailers and various facilities under pandemic situation and post-pandemic.
